User roles and access

RD Analytics uses an authority on each user account to control which sidebar items appear and whether the user can change data.

Authorities

Authority UI label Access
SYS_ADMIN System admin Full — including Zones, Users, and all System tabs
ENGINEER Engineer Operational workflow (Locations → Reports); can create, edit, run, and delete
VIEWER Viewer Same operational pages as Engineer; read-only
ANONYMOUS Anonymous Not signed in

Who uses what

System admin

  • Manage zones and users
  • Configure System (General, AI-Models, Class groups, Licensing, Modules, API keys, Maintenance)
  • Full operational workflow

Engineer

  • Day-to-day Locations, Sources, Scans, Merging, and Reports
  • Cannot open Zones, Users, or System

Viewer

  • Browse the same operational pages as Engineer
  • Cannot create, edit, run, or delete (mutations are blocked in the UI)

Zones

Users (except unrestricted system admin scope as configured) only see locations and sources in their assigned zones. Data API keys are also zone-scoped — see API keys.
